A couple weekends ago, I had the pleasure of attending the 2016 Dum-Dum convention hosted by the Chicago Muckers chapter of The Burroughs Bibliophiles, being asked to give a talk on Philip José Farmer’s Khokarsa/Ancient Opar series. I’d like to thank Joan Bledig and Jim Hadac for inviting me to speak at the con, and everyone else for the warm welcome and fun time. Here are some pictures from the weekend.
I’ll be attending PulpFest in Columbus, Ohio from Thursday, July 21 to Sunday, July 24. If you’re at the con, please stop by the Meteor House table, where I’ll be signing copies of Blood of Ancient Opar, which debuts at the show (otherwise shipping in early August). I’ll also be at the following events:
FRIDAY, JULY 22:
7:00 – 7:40 PM — FarmerCon XI — Collaborating with Philip José Farmer (moderator Paul Spiteri with authors Danny Adams, Christopher Paul Carey, and Win Scott Eckert)
Hadon, King of Opar, the limited edition hardcover of Exiles of Kho, and the Restored Edition of Philip José Farmer’s Flight to Opar will all debut at PulpFest 2015/FarmerCon X in Columbus, Ohio on August 13–16. I’ll be on hand to sign the books and will be hanging out at the Meteor House table in the Dealers Hall if you’d like to stop by and chat. The books should all begin shipping to customers shortly after PulpFest.
I’d like to take a moment to give a Brobdingnagian THANK YOU everyone who preordered the books and in so doing made them a reality. I am also especially grateful to the good folks at Meteor House and the interested parties who gave their blessing for new works set in Ancient Opar to be published.
I’m back from having a wonderful time at FarmerCon VII/PulpFest 2012, where my new signed limited edition novella Exiles of Kho debuted. I’m happy to announce that the book is now shipping from Meteor House. It’s almost sold out, though, with only about forty twenty-five or so copies remaining in stock at the publisher, so place your order now if you want a copy.

1:00 PM – The New Fictioneers – Christopher Paul Carey will read from his novel co-authored with Philip José Farmer, The Song of Kwasin, part of the Gods of Opar: Tales of Lost Khokarsa omnibus, forthcoming from Subterranean Press, as well as an excerpt from his new novella, Exiles of Kho.
7:00 PM – Lord Tyger, Time’s Last Gift, and the Gods of Opar – our FarmerCon VII panelists discuss a sampling of the Burroughs and Verne-inspired works of Philip José Farmer. Moderated by Paul Spiteri, editor of Pearls from Peoria and featuring authors Win Scott Eckert and Christopher Paul Carey.
